Helen Browne holds a pivotal position within AXA as Group General Counsel, a role she has occupied since 2016. She is also the director representing employee shareholders on AXA’s Board of Directors, a mandate she has held since 2020, and she joined the Group Management Committee in March 2021. She graduated in English and French law from the University of Kent at Canterbury and the University of Grenoble. Helen Browne is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1994. She began her career at Linklaters, where she worked in London, Brussels, and Paris, gaining extensive experience in corporate law, cross-border matters, and complex legal structuring. Helen Browne joined AXA in 2001 within the Group Legal Department, first as Head of Finance and later as Head of M&A in 2009. In 2014, she was appointed Deputy General Counsel, and two years later she became Group General Counsel. Her career progression at AXA reflects deep expertise in governance, financing, and strategic transactions, supported by long-term institutional knowledge of the Group.
