About Gustavo Migues

Gustavo Migues is an Uruguayan executive at Veolia and one of the group’s senior international leaders. Born in 1967, he holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. His career has been largely built within Veolia, beginning in 1995 at Compagnie Générale des Eaux in France and later in Puerto Rico. This long tenure has given him deep operational expertise in environmental services, especially water-related activities, across a wide variety of geographies and business contexts. From 2002 onward, Migues spent more than a decade in China, where he held a succession of increasingly senior roles: General Manager of Pudong Veolia Water Company, President of Shanghai Pudong Veolia Water Company, Director of Operations, and Executive Director of Veolia Water Central China. These positions placed him at the center of major industrial and infrastructure operations, requiring strong execution skills, local market understanding, and the ability to manage complex teams and service commitments. In 2011, he was appointed Country Director for South Korea, further strengthening his reputation as an experienced international operator. In 2017, Gustavo Migues was named Director of the Latin America Zone and Spain and Portugal, while also joining Veolia’s Executive Committee. Since February 2024, he has served as CEO of the Iberia & Latin America Zone and remains a member of the Executive Committee. In this role, he is responsible for a strategically important region for Veolia, overseeing performance, growth, client relationships, and the implementation of the group’s priorities across Iberia and Latin America.
