Gaëlle Regnard is a senior Crédit Agricole executive whose career combines public-sector experience, agricultural expertise and cooperative banking leadership. She holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Institut national de Paris Grignon and the École nationale du génie rural, des eaux et des forêts, with a specialization in water management. She began her professional journey in French government service, working at the Ministry of Agriculture, then at the Prime Minister’s office within the European Affairs secretariat, and later as a technical adviser to the Prime Minister. This background gave her a strong command of public policy, European coordination and regulated-sector issues—skills that are highly relevant in a major banking group with deep ties to territories and the real economy. She joined Crédit Agricole in September 2010 and gradually advanced through several important leadership roles. From 2010 to 2016, she served as Head of Agriculture at Crédit Agricole S.A., a strategic position linked to one of the group’s historic strengths and to the financing of a key economic sector in France. She then became Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Nord-de-France Regional Bank from 2016 to 2019, gaining broader operational management experience in a regional banking environment. From 2019 to 2022, she was Chief Executive Officer of the FNCA (Fédération nationale du Crédit Agricole), a pivotal role in the institutional coordination of the group’s regional banks and in the overall governance ecosystem of Crédit Agricole. Since April 2022, Gaëlle Regnard has been Chief Executive Officer of the Loire Haute-Loire Regional Bank. In that capacity, she oversees a major mutual banking franchise with responsibilities spanning business performance, risk management, customer and member relationships, local economic development and support for the ecological and digital transitions. In March 2025, she was also co-opted as a director of Crédit Agricole S.A. and appointed to the Audit Committee, reinforcing her role in group governance at the listed-company level.
