François Provost is a French automotive executive best known today as Chief Executive Officer of Renault S.A. and Chairman of Renault s.a.s., roles he has held since July 31, 2025, together with a seat on the board as a director. He graduated from both École polytechnique and the École des mines de Paris, and has spent more than 23 years at Renault Group, building a career that combines industrial leadership, international management, and strategic execution. His trajectory reflects a steady rise through increasingly senior roles inside one of France’s most prominent listed industrial groups. Over time, Provost held several important positions across Renault’s global organization. He became CEO of Renault Samsung Motors in September 2011, then moved in 2016 to lead Renault Group’s operations in China. In April 2019, he was appointed Senior Vice President and Chairman of the China Region, and in October 2020 he became Director of International Development and Partnerships. In January 2023, Renault named him Chief Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer, a role that placed him at the intersection of industrial performance, external relations, and strategic collaboration.
