François Duchaine is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of LES CONSTRUCTEURS DU BOIS, a listed French company focused on timber construction and low-carbon real estate development, headquartered in Épinal. He graduated from ENSTIB, the French engineering school specialized in wood technologies and industries, and began his career in the timber sector before creating C’SOLUTIONS in 2010, a project-management firm for the building industry, and then building LES CONSTRUCTEURS DU BOIS into an integrated developer and construction company. His professional background combines industrial operations, commercial development, and deep sector knowledge across the wood value chain. Early in his career, he spent eight years as a sawmill director, where he was responsible for upgrading industrial tools and expanding export sales to markets such as China, Europe, and North Africa. That experience gave him a practical understanding of production constraints, international markets, and the technical requirements of wood-based construction. At LES CONSTRUCTEURS DU BOIS, he has led the company’s specialization in timber and environmentally efficient buildings, with activity spanning senior residences, medical centers, intergenerational eco-neighborhoods, and other high-performance residential and tertiary projects. Under his leadership, the group has developed an integrated business model that combines design, project management, and development capabilities, reinforcing its identity as a low-carbon eco-developer. Duchaine’s approach has also emphasized territorial roots in the Grand Est region, innovation in wood construction, and responsiveness to social needs such as aging populations and local healthcare infrastructure.
