Fabrice Barthélemy is a leading French executive in the flooring industry, known for combining strong financial discipline, strategic leadership and a long-standing commitment to circular business models. He joined Tarkett in 2008 and initially served as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer until 2017. In that role, he helped shape Tarkett’s profitable growth strategy, supported more than twenty acquisitions and played a major part in the company’s initial public offering on Euronext Paris in 2013. These milestones established him as one of the key architects of Tarkett’s modern corporate development. He then moved into operational leadership as President of Tarkett’s Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America divisions, a critical business perimeter that required managing a complex, multi-market organization. In January 2019, Tarkett appointed him Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board, after a period as interim chairman. This appointment reflected both his deep internal knowledge of the group and the board’s confidence in his ability to lead a large industrial transformation from within. As CEO, Barthélemy has focused on improving financial performance while accelerating Tarkett’s sustainability agenda. His strategic priorities have included concentrating investment on the most dynamic markets, making the organization more agile and digital, and strengthening the company’s position in the circular economy. Under his leadership, Tarkett has continued to expand its take-back and recycling initiatives, reduce emissions and improve the environmental profile of its operations. The company reported in 2024 that 44% of its electricity consumption came from renewable sources in 2023 and that its Restart program had collected 119,000 tons of flooring over 13 years. Barthélemy’s profile is that of a highly execution-oriented industrial leader: financially rigorous, operationally experienced and strongly aligned with sustainability imperatives. He has been central to Tarkett’s evolution into a global benchmark for flooring and sports surface solutions, while reinforcing the group’s credibility with customers, investors and other stakeholders on long-term value creation and environmental responsibility.
