Eric Duranson serves at Inventiva as General Counsel, a key governance and risk-management role within a listed biopharmaceutical company. He joined Inventiva in September 2021 as General Counsel and a member of the executive committee, bringing legal oversight to corporate matters, development-stage operations, and a wide range of contractual and compliance issues. Official company materials also show him acting in corporate meeting and governance functions, reflecting his close involvement in the legal architecture of the group. Before joining Inventiva, Duranson built more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry, a background that is especially valuable in a sector shaped by regulation, intellectual property, clinical development, and commercialization risk. His career spans in vitro diagnostics, human vaccines, and medical devices, and includes roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Sanofi Pasteur, and bioMérieux. Across these organizations, he worked throughout the product lifecycle, from R&D to market launch, giving him a practical understanding of how legal strategy supports scientific and commercial execution. He brings to Inventiva expertise in risk prevention, contract drafting and negotiation, and dispute resolution. Academically, Eric Duranson holds a Master’s degree in International Business Law and a Master’s degree in Ethics and Health Law from Jean Moulin University Lyon III. That combination is well aligned with the demands of a publicly listed biotech company, where corporate governance, ethics, and regulatory discipline are central to long-term value creation.
