Eric Baissus is the leading executive at Kalray, a French semiconductor company focused on intelligent processing solutions for data infrastructures, AI workloads and embedded systems. He has served as CEO of Kalray since 2014 and is now Chairman of the Management Board, where he oversees strategy, industrial execution and business development. Under his leadership, Kalray evolved from a technology start-up into a listed scale-up with a stronger footprint in European and international markets. In June 2018, he led Kalray’s IPO on Euronext Paris, a milestone that significantly improved the company’s financing capacity and market visibility. Before joining Kalray, Baissus built a broad background in semiconductors, software and technology entrepreneurship. He spent eight years at Texas Instruments, where he worked on chip design and reference solutions. In 2002, he founded Open-Plug and served as its CEO and CTO until the company was acquired by Alcatel-Lucent in 2010. Open-Plug was known for software frameworks for mobile phones and counted major international customers. After the acquisition, he joined Alcatel-Lucent as Vice President of R&D and later Vice President of Innovation. An alumnus of École Polytechnique and the École nationale supérieure des télécommunications, Eric Baissus combines deep technical expertise with entrepreneurial and managerial experience. His profile is well suited to highly innovative industries requiring long product cycles, capital intensity and strong ecosystem partnerships.
