Christophe Gaussin is a French industrial executive closely linked to the history and development of GAUSSIN S.A., the family company founded in 1880. He joined the business in 1992 and was appointed Managing Director in 1994. From that point on, he drove a major strategic shift, steering the group toward more innovative, safer, and more environmentally responsible transport and material-handling solutions. He is widely seen as representing the fifth generation of the Gaussin family at the helm of the company. He holds a degree from the Institut de Contrôle de Gestion in Paris and earned an Executive MBA from Concordia University in Montreal in 2005. This combination of technical, industrial, and management training helped him guide GAUSSIN’s evolution from a traditional handling equipment specialist into a recognized player in industrial, port, logistics, and airport vehicles. Under his leadership, the company shifted toward higher-value technology markets, with a strong emphasis on electrification, hydrogen, and automation. Christophe Gaussin is also identified as the driving force behind the group’s hydrogen strategy. GAUSSIN has gained visibility through landmark projects such as hydrogen-powered trucks, participation in the Dakar Rally with a zero-emission truck, and the promotion of solutions designed for ports and logistics hubs. In 2022, he was named “Hydrogen Personality of the Year,” recognizing his role as a promoter of clean technologies applied to heavy transport. He has helped establish GAUSSIN as a brand associated with special-purpose vehicles, handling tractors, and professional mobility solutions with a lower carbon footprint.
