About Angeles Garcia Poveda
Angeles Garcia Poveda is a highly regarded corporate governance executive and board leader, best known today as Chair of the Board of Directors of Legrand, a position she has held since July 2020. She joined Legrand’s Board as an independent director in 2012 and then took on progressively more senior governance responsibilities, including Lead Director from 2013 onward, before being appointed Chair. Her career at Legrand reflects a long-standing relationship with the company and a deep familiarity with its strategy, leadership culture, and long-term value creation priorities. Before joining Legrand, Garcia Poveda built an international career in strategy consulting and executive search. She spent 14 years at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), working in Madrid and Paris as a strategy consultant and later heading global recruitment. This background gave her a broad perspective on business transformation, organizational performance, and leadership assessment. In 2008, she joined Spencer Stuart, the global executive search firm, where she became Managing Director for France and later Managing Director for EMEA, while also serving on the global Executive Committee. She was elected to Spencer Stuart’s Supervisory Board and remained a Senior Advisor in the governance practice until March 2023. Her expertise lies at the crossroads of governance, leadership, strategic development, and talent management. At Legrand, she has been associated with strengthening best-in-class governance and supporting a sustainable, stakeholder-oriented business model. Beyond Legrand, she serves as a board member of Bridgepoint and Puig and is active in several governance and sustainable finance bodies, including the Institut de la Finance Durable, MEDEF, and the Haut Comité de Gouvernement d’Entreprise. Overall, she stands out as an experienced board chair with strong international credentials, a rigorous governance mindset, and a proven ability to support complex listed-company decision-making.
