Alexandre de Rothschild is the Executive Chairman of Rothschild & Co, where he holds overall responsibility for the group’s management through Rothschild & Co Gestion, the entity in charge of the company’s operational oversight. In this capacity, he sets the strategic direction of the business, supervises accounting and financial reporting, oversees the internal control framework, and chairs the Management Board. He is therefore one of the central figures in the governance of one of Europe’s leading independent investment banking and wealth management firms. Alexandre de Rothschild joined Rothschild & Co in 2008, initially focusing on the development of the Five Arrows division. He was appointed to the Group Executive Committee in 2011, then became Managing Partner of Rothschild Martin Maurel and Rothschild & Cie in 2013. In 2014, he joined the Management Board of Rothschild & Co Gestion, becoming its Executive Deputy Chairman in March 2017. He was appointed Executive Chairman on 17 May 2018. Before joining the family group, he built substantial experience in investment banking and private equity in New York and London, working at Bear Stearns and Bank of America. This international background gave him a strong command of financing, investment, and transaction structuring, skills he later brought to the group’s development. Among his most notable achievements are the strengthening of the group’s governance, the expansion and institutionalization of the Five Arrows platform, and the advancement of a long-term strategy built around independence, capital discipline, and lasting relationships with entrepreneurs and family clients. Under his leadership, Rothschild & Co has continued to reinforce its position as an independent, family-controlled financial institution with strong capabilities in global advisory, asset management, and wealth management.
