Alain Dinin is a leading figure in French listed real estate, most closely identified with the rise of Nexity. He began his career in 1979 at the George V group (part of the Arnault group) as a management controller and later held a number of roles before becoming managing director in 1985. He then expanded his experience in the property sector by serving as Chief Executive Officer of CGIS, within the Vivendi group, from 1995 to 2000, before joining Nexity in a senior leadership capacity. Official Nexity sources indicate that he went on to serve as vice-chairman, chairman of the executive board, and later chairman and chief executive officer of the group. He resumed the combined role of Chairman and CEO in 2020 during a governance transition, and subsequently became Honorary Chairman effective 1 January 2023. A graduate of the École Supérieure de Commerce de Lille, now SKEMA Business School, Dinin built a reputation as a strategic executive focused on long-term value creation. Under his leadership, Nexity strengthened its transformation from a traditional developer into a broad real-estate services platform, combining residential development, services for individuals, corporate services, and support for local communities. He also championed a governance model grounded in employee shareholding and long-term alignment of interests, while overseeing organizational changes designed to improve agility and decision-making. His tenure was marked by key strategic decisions, including the redesign of management responsibilities, the refresh of the strategic plan, and efforts to reinforce the group’s financial structure. Dinin is widely seen as a builder-type leader, committed to sustainable growth, operational innovation, and corporate responsibility. His leadership played a decisive role in Nexity’s development into one of France’s major integrated real-estate players.
