About Andre Bordas

André Bordas is the founder and long-time leader of UV GERMI, a French company specializing in ultraviolet-based depollution and disinfection solutions for air, water, and surfaces. His industrial background dates back to 1979, when he founded Bordas Bobinage, a company focused on electrical equipment for industrial applications. In 1990, he expanded his entrepreneurial activity by creating SARL Bordas, which distributed industrial and electronic supplies for pumping, irrigation, swimming pool maintenance, and water treatment. Bordas was an early believer in the potential of UV technology. In 1995, he took a decisive step by manufacturing his first UV treatment reactors after a tender from the Corrèze Chamber of Agriculture. This marked the beginning of a long-term industrial and technological journey. In 2000, he supported the filing of the first patent for a fluid treatment device using UV radiation, and in 2006 he secured an initial certification for dechloramination, helping establish a more structured commercial offering. In 2009, he founded UV GERMI to continue and scale up the work initiated within SARL Bordas. The company quickly grew across markets such as drinking water treatment, wastewater, public swimming pools, and later air and surface decontamination. Under his leadership, UV GERMI was listed on Euronext Growth in 2017, opened a research and innovation center in Saint-Viance in 2018, and gradually expanded internationally. André Bordas has established himself as a long-term industrial executive combining technological vision, regional anchoring, and a strong innovation culture. His core expertise lies in turning workshop-level know-how into a recognized industrial platform for chemical-free UV solutions. In February 2025, he announced the separation of the roles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer: he stepped down from executive duties while remaining Chairman of the Board, supporting the company’s new governance model and strategic continuity.
