Sophie Bellon is a prominent French business executive and the current Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Sodexo. She has been a member of Sodexo’s Board of Directors since 1989 and joined the company in 1994, bringing with her eight years of professional experience in the United States. That international background helped shape her leadership style and her understanding of large-scale, multicultural organizations, client relationships, and strategic governance. Her career at Sodexo has been built through progressively broader operational and strategic responsibilities. In 2005, she was appointed Group Client Relations Director, where she contributed to strengthening client retention and deepening Sodexo’s commercial relationships. In 2008, she became Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Services business unit for Sodexo France. Two years later, she was given responsibility for the company’s Facilities Management activities in France. In 2013, she was entrusted with leading Sodexo’s Research, Development and Innovation strategy, with a focus on quality-of-life services. That same year, she was appointed Vice Chairwoman of the Board, and in 2016 she became Chairwoman. In October 2021, she took on the role of interim CEO, and in February 2022 she was formally appointed Chief Executive Officer, combining both top governance and executive roles. As Sodexo’s top leader, Sophie Bellon has focused on competitiveness, transformation, and organizational simplification. She has supported initiatives aimed at accelerating innovation, improving operational performance, and strengthening the group’s positioning in services that contribute to quality of life. Her leadership is also associated with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and the social value of service professions. She has consistently highlighted the human dimension of these jobs and their local societal impact. Beyond Sodexo, she has served on the Board of Directors of L’Oréal since 2015 and has been a member of AFEP since 2017.
