Frédéric Chesnais is a French executive known for a career at the crossroads of video games, finance, and digital assets. He graduated from Sciences Po Paris and holds training in finance and law. He began his career as a financial adviser and then practiced as a lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He later joined Lazard Bank, where he worked from 1995 to 2000, building strong expertise in corporate finance, strategic transactions, and the governance challenges of listed companies. He then moved to Atari, where he held senior management roles between 2001 and 2007. His positions included Group Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, as well as Chief Executive Officer of Atari Interactive. In 2007, he left Atari to create his own video game company. He later returned to the center of the industry by becoming Atari’s largest shareholder in 2013 and its Chief Executive Officer. Corporate sources indicate that he led Atari until 2021, a period during which he oversaw the group’s turnaround, restructuring, and strategic initiatives in licensing, digital content, and blockchain-related activities. Following that chapter, Chesnais founded Crypto Blockchain Industries (CBI), a company listed on Euronext Growth Paris, where he currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, as well as a non-independent director. CBI develops and invests in projects linked to blockchain, NFTs, video games, and crypto-assets, with a strategy focused on building a treasury of Bitcoin, creating proprietary tokens, and mining. The group’s approach has been highlighted through initiatives such as AlphaVerse, Web3 partnerships, and capital-market operations designed to accelerate its ACE strategy. Chesnais is therefore positioned as an experienced entrepreneur combining financial expertise, industry leadership, and a long-standing understanding of rapidly evolving digital ecosystems.
