NRJ GROUP is a French private media group listed on Euronext Paris under ISIN FR0000121691. Founded in 1981 by Jean-Paul Baudecroux around the NRJ radio brand, the company has grown into one of France’s leading private media players. Its business model combines content publishing, production, broadcasting and advertising sales. Over time, the group has expanded beyond its original radio franchise to build a multi-brand, multi-platform ecosystem that can monetize audiences across audio, digital and transmission assets. In France, NRJ GROUP holds a leading position in the private radio and audio market through four flagship brands: NRJ, CHÉRIE FM, NOSTALGIE and RIRE & CHANSONS. These brands form the core of the group’s editorial offering, focused on music, entertainment and audience affinity. The company has also become a major player in digital audio, with nearly 250 to 270 themed digital radio streams in recent publications, alongside native podcasts and replay content distributed through websites, mobile apps, voice assistants and third-party platforms. This multi-channel strategy strengthens advertising inventory and allows NRJ GROUP to offer advertisers contextual, brand-safe communication environments. The group also operates a broadcasting business through its subsidiary towerCast, which is the second-largest player in France’s terrestrial broadcasting market. towerCast handles FM and DAB+ radio transmission as well as digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTT/TNT), supported by a dense infrastructure network and strong technical expertise. Internationally, NRJ GROUP is present in 13 countries through direct operations, partnerships or brand licensing arrangements, mainly around the NRJ and NOSTALGIE brands, helping extend the reach of its flagship labels well beyond France. The company’s history includes several important milestones: the launch of NRJ in 1981, the creation of CHÉRIE FM in 1987, the stock market listing in 1989, the launch of Rire & Chansons in 1990, the acquisition of Nostalgie in 1998, and the build-out of broadcasting and digital activities in the 2000s. More recently, NRJ GROUP stopped broadcasting NRJ 12 in March 2025, sold Chérie 25 in September 2025 and continued to reshape its portfolio in response to changes in the audiovisual landscape. In 2025, the group generated consolidated revenue of €321.0 million excluding barter transactions, while maintaining a strong net cash position.
