EXAIL TECHNOLOGIES is a French industrial high-tech group focused on autonomous systems, precision navigation, maritime robotics and advanced photonics components. Listed on Euronext Paris, the company serves highly demanding civil and military markets where performance, reliability and operational safety are critical. Its competitive position is particularly strong in naval defense, mine countermeasures, hydrography, maritime surveillance and inertial navigation solutions. The group was created in 2022 through the merger of ECA Group and iXblue, two businesses with deep innovation roots and complementary technologies. Exail Technologies, however, has a much longer industrial heritage, dating back to 1936 with the creation of ECA, and to 2000 with the founding of iXblue. The combination was designed to build a European mid-sized champion capable of winning large, complex, long-duration programs while preserving an entrepreneurial culture and strong technological agility. The company is led by Raphaël Gorgé and describes itself as a family-owned group with a long-term value-creation mindset. The business is organized around two main segments. The first, Navigation & Maritime Robotics, includes underwater and surface drones, mine countermeasure systems, teleoperated robots, navigation systems and mission software. The second, Advanced Technologies, develops high-end photonic and quantum components such as specialty optical fibers, optical modulators and quantum measurement instruments, as well as integrated products for onboard communication and other advanced applications. These technologies can be sold directly to customers or integrated into systems within the first segment. Exail holds a recognized market position in mine warfare systems, supported by several major contracts secured in recent years, notably with the Belgian and Dutch navies. In the first half of 2025, the group reported revenue of €220.3 million, up 35%, a backlog of €1.1 billion and record order intake of €612 million. Geographic revenue data show a broad international footprint, with a strong European base and sales also generated in France, Asia and the Americas. The group employs around 2,000 people and operates through an international network of subsidiaries across Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Asia. Exail Technologies stands out for its ability to operate in extreme environments, from the deep sea to outer space, with technologically intensive products and growth potential driven by rising defense spending and increasing demand for autonomy, navigation and robotics.
